Shoulder Nerve Procedures

What it is. Several nerves, including the suprascapular and axillary nerves, supply sensation to the shoulder joint. A test block of local anaesthetic can show whether treating these nerves is likely to help. If it does, radiofrequency treatment can be used to switch off the pain signals for longer.

Who it may help. People with long-standing shoulder pain, for example from arthritis or other shoulder conditions, that has not settled with other treatments.
